First Baptist Church Naples Prayer Ministry

Scripture prayers:   Be merciful to [us], O God, be merciful to [us], for in you [our souls take] refuge; in the shadow of your wings [we] will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.  Psalm 57:1 (ESV)

May the God of hope fill [us] with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit [we] may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 (ESV)

First Baptist Church Naples:

  • Pray for God to use the Naples Christmas Celebration to reach those not yet touched by the gospel and for God to place in our church body a willingness to volunteer with the same enthusiasm we all witnessed during the Hurricane Irma recovery.
  • Pray for the volunteers who assist in all children and youth ministries, that they would be encouraged and strengthened in their service.  Ask God to let them experience the joy not only of their present service, but also of the joy of being assured that fruit will be borne in the lives they invest in each week.
  • Pray that the new BLGs formed this Fall are fruitful and that meaningful fellowship and relationships are being formed within each group.  Pray for the teachers involved that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit in their discipling others through their teaching.

Our Mission Partners:

  • Praise God for our partner, Protected Harbor, as they celebrate the completion of the new house for developmentally challenged men.
  • Please pray for the Heath family (Wycliffe Bible Translators) and other friends as they apply for visitor’s visa to attend the Dukawa New Testament dedication in Nigeria this January.  Others have experienced difficulties due to a shortage of visa stamp/stickers.
  • One of our partners working in a sensitive area had discipleship training in October. Only 11 attended, but out of the witness of these 11, 51 made "decisions" for Christ! So far only 3 people have been baptized, so please pray for these new believers to follow Christ in obedience faithfully.
  • GAiN (Jesus Film, water, and church planting): There have recently been political demonstrations in the country of Togo in Africa. Please pray for safety for our teams, health as they travel, and courage to continue to spread the gospel in regions where there is opposition.

 Current Political Issues:

  • Continue to pray for the fellowship of believers in Texas who lost much of their congregation through the recent shooting tragedy.  Ask God to turn the heart of the community to Christ as they observe the testimony of the members who survived and are trying to rebuild their lives.  Pray especially for the pastor that he would have wisdom, strength, and the peace of Christ displayed in his daily walk.
