Parenting Solo New Beginnings Start Here

Parenting Solo is a ministry for moms and dads who are parenting alone. Whether divorced, widowed  or never married you will find people within the ministry who understand what its like to be a single parent.
 
Join the Parenting Solo Bible & Life Group on Saturday nights at 7:30 PM in room DC212 of the Discipleship Building. Or join us Sunday mornings at 11 AM in DC212 for a co-ed group bible study.   Each week the study stands on its own, so if you have to miss a week you are not out.
 
At our Single Parent Family Ministry we work hard to find out the needs of single parent families and then help meet those needs in such a way that the single parent family would be strengthened and drawn closer to Christ. As a single parent it is difficult to handle childcare, finances, car care, home repair and, wow, when can you have time for fun?
 
Come join the single parents of First Baptist Naples in an exciting outreach ministry. We have activities, Bible studies and family group studies which are made especially for single parents. Get to know other single parents who share your dreams and concerns. We look forward to getting to know you and your children. Jimmy Hill, Director

  • Divorce Care: Meets every Thursday night  at 6:30 PM in DC107. (Call for time of next session) 
  • DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids): Also meets Thursday nights at 6:30 PM twice a year and meets in DC113. (Call for time of next session)
  • Next Step: A great follow up to Divorce Care meets Thursday nights at 6:30 PM in DC109.  Call for next date. 
  • Car Care Saturday: We offer help to keep your car in safe running order. Call Jim at 596-8600 ext. 242 to sign up or for more details.

  • Bible and Life Groups: Each week we meet to study God's Word and how it applies to us today.

DivorceCare for Kids

DivorceCare for Kids is a special group to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At their weekly DC4K group, kids make friends with other kids who understand how they feel and the things they are going through because of the divorce of their parents.           
Best of all, children will learn how God's love can strengthen them and help turn tears to hope and joy!                               

 
DC4K design
The DC4K group meets weekly in 13-week cycles (DivorceCare for adults also meets in a 13 week cycle). We combine games, crafts, activities, music and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. They look forward to each time their DC4K “family” gets together.

Important details for your consideration:
  • DC4K is for children between the ages of 5 and 12.  Free childcare is available for children under 5.
  • DivorceCare and DC4K meet on Thursday evenings at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Discipleship Building.  DivorceCare meets in room DC207; DC4K meets in room DC213. 
  • Each weekly lesson for both programs is a stand-alone lesson, which means participants can join in at any time.
  • DC4K and DivorceCare are programs open to our community.  All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
  • The only cost to the program is for the workbook ($10)  - and that is provided at no cost upon request.
DivorceCare and DC4K is a part of Parenting SOLO, a ministry for single parents.

Divorce Care
There are not many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. To you. Your family. Your friends.

 
That’s the reason for Divorce Care. It’s a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.  Divorce Care is nondenominational and features biblical teaching for emotional healing and recovery from divorce and separation.  There are two parts to each weekly Divorce Care session. At first the group watches videotape featuring top experts on divorce and recovery topics. These tapes contain valuable information about recovering from divorce and are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format.

 
Following the video, the participants spend time into two or more small “support groups,” discussing what was presented on that week’s videotape and what is going on in the lives of the group participants.
Step out in faith and call for information today. The class meets every Thursday night at 6:30 PM in room DC107 of the Education building at our 3000 Orange Blossom Drive Campus.

 
Cost is just $10 for your workbook and you can join at any time.
