Beautiful Feet

“‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’” – Acts 10:15

Each summer here at First Naples, we commission many mission teams to go to the ends of the earth.  We truly have a lot of good looking “feet,” as many members are living obediently to proclaim the Good News. Here’s a quick update:

    Guatemala (July 1-7)
Besides serving in a malnutrition center, God also opened up a unique opportunity in the remote Indian village of Los Curup. Dr. Dulce Dudley and the team traveled down a mountain in the back of a pickup truck to reach the remote area.  They were able to see about 50 children and started to build relationships with the leaders of the community.  As the team shared the Gospel with hundreds of children and families at the malnutrition center, they saw many put their faith in Christ.

    East Asia (June 29-July 9)
For the second year in a row, a team traveled to the second largest city on the planet and helped our Kingdom Missions partners host an international basketball camp for kids. FBA varsity girls basketball coach, Jen Lines, her daughters, and some of her players joined with other students to form a dynamic team that pulled off an incredible camp.  Every child at camp clearly heard the Gospel. For two of the nights, our team stayed in homes with national families where they had incredible Gospel conversations.

    Alaska  (July 8-15)
Pastor Mark Bates led a team to partner with one of our Kingdom Missions partners - True North Church. The team hosted outreach soccer camps and had over 100 kids come out to a special block party event. They have seen God more than double the expected turnout at the camps. The Gospel has been shared and they have seen eternal fruit.

In closing, I want to share one testimony from a member of our Asia team.  She said, “‘Here Am I. Send me.’ (Isaiah 6:8)  I got an opportunity to go to Asia and we definitely got to see God move in mighty ways in an amazing city, but what God’s been saying to me since I got back is, ‘Hey can I still send you now? Can you still be on mission for me even in your comfy hometown?  Can you keep having those awkward Gospel conversations?’ I just want to challenge you guys to keep your ‘yes’ on the table because there is so much joy in obedience no matter what you’ve heard before.”  Well said, Elysa! May we all live on mission every day!

We are so excited to have of Dr. and Mrs. Wicker back from a well-deserved vacation. Welcome home!
