I came from a broken home where neither Mom or Dad were very involved in my childhood. I was blessed to have my grandparents step-in and play guardian roles for me, but I wasn’t raised in a Christian home.
It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I was invited to church by a friend. Crazy enough I went, and then I kept going! A couple of months later, at the church’s Christmas program, I accepted the gift of salvation and gave my life to Jesus.
I was excited to follow the Lord, but I never would have thought that He would desire to use me in ministry. As my wife, Jodi (who was the friend that invited me to church) and I found a church to call home, we began to serve in student ministry. During that time, God began to grow in my heart a passion for students. Two years later, Jodi and I were challenged to pray a simple prayer, “God, what is your greatest use for our lives?” God quickly showed us that He was calling me to serve in Student Ministry, and we are so thankful for His faithfulness to walk with us every step of the way.
Since I was first invited to church in high school, I understand the importance of students inviting other students to connect with the Gospel. That is why we are starting something new this Fall. FBCN students are going big with our first Color Clash Night. It will be a high energy event focused on outreach. We will have food, games, giveaways, and an epic color war!! Most importantly, this event will be centered around sharing the Gospel. I am excited to see our students reach out to their friends, who don’t know Jesus, with the hope of the Gospel!!
