You are made by God on purpose, for a purpose. This was one of the driving themes of our third annual Creative Arts Camp, which the folks in our worship ministry hosted last week. We had an incredible time inspiring children to use the gifts and abilities God has given for His glory and our good. It is so important for us to remember that our creative God has made us in His image (Genesis 1:26-27) to know His wonderful nature in relationship with Him and to share His love with the world around us!
I am so thankful to have embraced the love of Jesus Christ at a young age. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and was part of a loving Pastor’s home where I learned the reality of Jesus’ love, the depth of my sin, and the freedom of salvation only found in Jesus Christ. It was within my relationship with God that I realized my purpose: to live for Him and follow Jesus wherever He leads. The reality of “denying myself” was manifest in my call to church ministry at the precipice of a collegiate pursuit in Veterinary Medicine. Even then, I had no idea that the Lord would lead me to serve His church through worship ministry, but God continued to shape the path of my circumstances and the desires of my heart to walk through the doors that He opened to fulfill His purposes.
Throughout Scripture, we see God at work in and through His people. I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father is still at work today and I rejoice to see Him moving in our midst. It is such a joy to gather each weekend with our church family to worship the Lord and declare His Gospel! There is something so significant that happens when we “Tune our hearts to sing God’s praise.” Part of God’s purpose for you today is to praise His name and encounter His Spirit. Will you offer Him the “sacrifice of praise” that He deserves and focus your attention on Him? Don’t miss out on what He has in store!
